    About the artist:

    I love to create. I always have, as a kid that was what “playing” was all about. Whether it was homemade paper dolls, with 3-D paper furniture, or makeshift bow and arrows from the weeping willow branches hanging over the fence. Whenever my sisters and I would play with dolls it always turned into a creative mess of making things for them, that was more entertaining then any actual role play. Things haven't changed much. I still like to play at making things. It is mostly channeled into drawing and painting, but I also love sculpture, jewelry, bookbinding and graphic design. Switching mediums always gives me renewed creative energy. I tried to major in something "serious and marketable" in college, but ended up with more art credits than anything else by a landslide, with only halfhearted efforts to pursue other alternatives. I couldn't escape it, for me creativity is a cosmic force stronger than gravity. I cannot function without it in some form. So I have a BA in visual art, and I still get to play doing what I love to do. ....and stay home with my kids! I'm so lucky! I have two darling, sometimes mischievousness but very sweet kids, who both make me laugh, give me sweet cuddles and then totally baffle me. One of each, girl and boy (with a baby sister on the way). I wouldn't trade them for anything or anyone. I also have a wonderful sweetie husband, who not only adores me, but loves my art as well. My family is a constant inspiration to me both personally and artistically. I recently opened an Etsy store (www.liesel.etsy.com) with art prints of mine, and a few other assorted things (cards and hand bound books). I don't know that this is the best venue for my art, but it has been lighthearted and fun. I have also started the process of illustrating (and writing) children's books.
