Utah Arts CouncilArts education and learning is vital to the development of creative, well-rounded, independent thinkers. An ideal arts education curriculum for children consists of the literary arts, dance, folk arts, theater, music, storytelling, media and visual arts in ongoing, sequential instruction from kindergarten through grade 12. Outside the classroom, arts learning takes place in after-school and community settings. Through arts education and learning, we aid in the nurturing of intelligent, capable, compassionate individuals who will be tomorrow’s artists, arts patrons and arts lovers. Arts education and learning programs are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Utah Legislature and local sponsoring organizations.

The Utah Division of Arts and Museums’ “Teaching Artist” roster is the recommended source of artists for the Utah Arts Council grantees who are funded for residencies, projects and events. Once accepted into the roster, artists may choose the specific activities from the following categories in which they would like to participate. This information, along with an artist statement and photograph, is made available to the public on NowPlayingUtah.com.

Please visit the Utah Division of Arts and Museums for more information on applying for the "Teaching Artist" designation flag.
