Joseph Smith: Prophet and Statesman

This 20-30 minute spotlight tour will discuss Joseph Smith's 1844 campaign for President of the United States. A "ballot" listing the campaign platforms for several candidates will be handed out to visitors. With no names listed on the ballots, visitors can choose who they would have voted for based only on the candidate's policies. This 20 minute gallery walk highlights ten works of art from the International Art Competition for Youth. The theme of weathering life's storms is discussed as visitors see depictions of stormy seas, lighthouses, and other types of storms. The symbolism behind these select works of art is explained.
