Long before Park City became a world class mountain resort and venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, it was famous as a silver mining town, and boasts a lively and colorful past. Founded by prospectors in the late 1860's, Park City continued to mine silver until the early 1970's. The mining company, Park City Consolidated Mines, started the ski business in 1963, when they built the first lifts on what was then called Treasure Mountain. The Park City area now has three world class resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and the Canyons Resort.

      Park City Gallery Stroll Park City Park City Gallery Stroll Presented by Park City Gallery Association at Park City July 9, 2011 - Ongoing On the last Friday of each month, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, members of the Park City Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. The last Friday Gallery Stroll is a free community event that gives locals and Park City visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while exploring Park City's exciting art scene. Please visit any of our participating galleries to pick up a free gallery guide.

      Ultimate Challenge Park City Ultimate Challenge Presented by Tour of Utah at Park City August 11, 2012 The Ultimate Challenge runs in conjunction with the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. The amateur event will be held on the same day as Stage Five, the "Queen Stage", of the Tour of Utah, and three ride options will be available. The Ultimate Challenge is a non-competitive bicycle ride which provides participants with an once-in-a-lifetime experience utilizing one of the mountain stages that gives the Tour of Utah its reputation as "America's Toughest Stage Race".
