David Habben is an artist, illustrator, and educator, but his favorite titles are husband and father. Having always loved drawing, he pursued his passion throughout his education. Following a two-year mission to Melbourne Australia, David He received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2006. In 2008, he became one of the first illustrators to become a Children’s Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. For the next eight years, David continued to work as an illustrator and designer, both in-house and freelance. Then, In 2017, he earned his MFA in Studio Art, with a Graphic Design emphasis, from The University of Utah. His work is part of a wide variety of media, including children’s books, magazines, advertising campaigns, theatre posters, snowboards, and skis. In March of 2019, David’s first authored and illustrated children’s book, “Mr. Sherman’s Cloud,” was published by Page Street Publishing. The book intends to show that no matter our circumstance, we can choose to find joy in our journey. David feels lucky every day to be joined in his journey by his wife Anna and their two incredible children, in addition to the wonderful friends and mentors who have shaped his life in remarkable ways.
