Irv plays in three of the best musical groups in Utah: The Fender Benders classic rock band (www.fenderbenders.org), Relic Acoustic Band (www.relicacousticband.com), and Margie & Irv vocal/piano duo (www.margieandirv.com); as well as solo performances with his tenor vocals plus piano or guitar. Irv also operates a booking agency for other quality musical acts. A true "renaissance man," Irv is involved in many aspects of the music business. He plays piano, synthesizer, electric piano, electric organ, sampler, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and pipe organ. He is also a choral conductor and tenor vocalist, who does choral arrangements and compositions, some of which are available for free download (www.irvnelsonmusic.com). His "day job" is running The Musicademy (www.themusicademy.com), where he teaches accelerated piano, guitar, bass guitar, and vocal lessons. Irv also owns the Pier 49 San Francisco Style Sourdough Pizza franchise in Cache Valley, holds a Ph.D. in business, and was a CPA and a professor of accounting at Utah State University for many years. He is an inventor and tinkerer with a particular interest in musical instruments and electronics.
