I’M Marlena Wilding

I am a Mix Media Artist, who currently lives and works in Seattle Washington with my husband and 2 kids.

I love to create layered works based on my perspective of all that is; portrayed both physically and metaphorically to convey a poignant message that can be understood in stages by all.

My “Her-story”

I grew up in Lindon Utah and went to Brigham Young University; where I received my B.A. in Visual Arts and studied Abroad in Great Britain to further my knowledge and practice; this is where “Untitled,” “Patterns,” “The Past,” and the foundation that becomes “Sow”, was created.

I have had work featured in various galleries and art publications in the States and the UK.

I taught At Risk Youth at Heritage (where I met my husband) to channel their pain, joy, experience, etc into works of art to bring healing and self-love, while also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Weber State University.

4 years later, I picked up a brush and scissors and started to create art again. As well as slowly reveal works made years previously.

Today

Now that my littles are older, I am ready to get to work and devote even more time to my creations.
