I’ve always thought of myself as an artist first. My goals as an artist, painter, and photographer are the expression of my concept of beauty. Whether in nature, in a dream, or from my imagination, I often find that an image stays with me until created. Whether representational, abstract, or somewhere between, I view art as an emotional statement by the artist, to communicate on levels both above and below the conscious mind. I am a third generation native of Salt Lake City, a second generation artist, and the first watercolorist in my family. Watercolor was my medium of choice beginning in the ’80’s. In to 90’s I began experimenting with acrylic. In the last few years my focus has shifted toward photography, and recently I’ve learned a great deal from fellow photographers and hope to continue growing and improving.
