Barlow applications are open for the Barlow PrizeBarlow General Commission and Barlow Latter-day Saints Commission.  Applications are available at http://barlow.byu.edu/.

All applications and scores must be RECEIVED before close of business on JUNE 1.
The Endowment is open M-F, 8am-5pm (Mountain Time), and does not receive mail on Saturday, Sunday, or US national holidays. The Endowment does not make exceptions for submissions delayed
because of natural disasters, faulty internet or mail services operations, applicant neglect, or country customs legalities. Please plan accordingly.

BARLOW PRIZE: $12,000 Commission
New Work for a Song Cycle for Soprano and Piano

The winning composer will receive a $12,000 commission for a major new work for a Song Cycle for Soprano and Piano. The work will be performed in 2022 by a consortium of illustrious soparanos:
Tony Arnold, Sharon Harms, Diane Reich and Carrie Henneman Shaw. The work is expected to meet the highest artistic requirements for the medium. Additional specifications for the work will be negotiated among the Barlow Endowment, the composer, and the performing consortium. Half of the commission fee will be paid after January 1st when the contract for the commission is finalized, and the other half will be paid when the finished signed and dated score is submitted to the Endowment.
