In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, our in-person festival will no longer be happening. But fear not—we will still be getting our Fringe on, digitally! We plan on producing a digital Fringe experience on our previously planned festival dates, July 30 – August 9. We’re envisioning a Fringe Channel, where audiences can tune in daily for live or pre-recorded shows, interactive experiences, interviews with Fringe artists, and more. We want to include everything that makes the Fringe great, and we’re open to your ideas, as long as it can be broadcast online (right now, we’re planning on using Zoom and Facebook Live as our platforms).

There is no fee to apply or perform. The Fringe will not be operating a traditional “box office” or selling tickets, but there are still ways to get paid for your digital show. Your show can be 100% free, open for tips (we’ll make sure your Venmo is prominently displayed), or “suggested donation.” Any proceeds will go to you.

In producing our digital Fringe experience, we are committed to following current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, and we expect artists to do the same in producing their shows.

To participate, submit your idea at greatsaltlakefringe.org/apply by Friday, July 10th. Once we receive your submission, we’ll be in touch soon to talk about your show and what you’ll need, get your show details for marketing purposes, and figure out all the technical details. Questions? Contact us! We would be happy to talk through your idea with you before you submit.
