The South Jordan Arts Council is inviting Salt Lake County residents to submit illustrative art for a 2023 commemorative poster. This art should capture the spirit of the city’s kick-off to summer event and prominently feature the city’s Annual SoJo Music Festival, a highlight of the SoJo Summerfest event. Artist and artwork will be selected for this project under the discretion of the Arts Council. Professional, amateur, and student artists are encouraged to submit artwork.
Once applications are reviewed, selected artists will be notified via email. The selected artist will receive a $1,500 Grand Prize and may also be invited to participate in any media events for the unveiling of the art piece. The original art will be on display during the 3 day run of SoJo Summerfest 2023 and become property of the City of South Jordan.
The artwork must be created exclusively for the 2023 SoJo Summerfest Music Festival. The official 2023 commemorative poster will be available to event participants, along with other merchandise during the SoJo Summerfest 2023 event.
In addition to the $1,500 grand prize, first runner up will receive a $150 gift card and second runner up will receive a $100 gift card.
To apply, artist are asked to provide:
1.) A Rough drawing or sketch concept that reflects your visual idea for the commemorative poster.
2.) An example of a past art piece that was completed by the artist.
Once the official art piece has been selected, the artist will enter into a written agreement with The City of South Jordan and then collaboratively work with city staff on any sizing or adjustment needs.
Final Art must include the wording “SoJo Music Festival June 2-3, 2023” as well as the official SoJo Summerfest logo, which the city will provide to the artist. Finial art must be summited in a high resolution format.
The application deadline is March 31, 2023. All applicants will be notified of selection decisions
