Art of Our Century: Shadow and Light

The 2019 Art of Our Century exhibition explores the juxtaposition of shadow and light. Artistic depictions of shadow and light bend our perceptions of the real and the abstract, challenging how we view the world. Join us for this juried show of eclectic and modern work and featuring artist guest Josie Bell.

Bend our perceptions of symbolic, religious, metaphysical, emotional and the abstract, experienced in unlimited ways during our daily lives that they join together to create unity. This exhibition showcases the art of Josie Bell and features a juried selection of contemporary works.

Art of Our Century will be juried by Havoc Hendricks. Havoc is a self-taught professional artist who passionately pursues the perfection of his craft. He has spent his life studying the never-ending line patterns that nature displays through water, mountain strata, geodes, rock veins, cloud patterns and wood grain. He transcribes these patterns through a minimalist perspective; the end result is something he calls detailed minimalism. Havoc's art is collected around the world. He has been scouted & commissioned to make custom art for boutique hotels, ski resorts, & the higher end of the snowboard industry, surf industry, athletic apparel industry.

Submissions begin March 26th - April 9th, 2019. The submission form will be on the museum website under the 'For Artists' tab.
