Attention all LADS & LASSIES — after a long, 100-year wait — Brigadoon is coming!

Our second big amphitheater production of 2018 will run August 24, 25, 27, 31, and September 1. Auditions are open for all 12 and older. Children under 12 with a parent/guardian in the show are welcome. Families are encouraged to audition together. Brigadoon will be directed by
Robin Edwards, music directed by Emily Roh, choreographed by Gloria Salisbury, with Tina Barnes as costumer.

Audition Times

Auditions will be held Monday 23 April and Friday 27 April from 7 to 9 pm at American Preparatory Academy (11938 S Lone Peak Parkway in Draper), in the farthest west building of the campus. Follow the signs to the choir room, which is located on the top floor of the building.

Audition Prep

You must enroll with our online system BEFORE you show up for auditions. Read and follow these instructions that explain how to enroll for online auditions. Again, do this BEFORE you show up for auditions.

For your audition prepare to perform 16 bars of a song in a similar genre to the show. An accompanist will be provided. A simple dance routine will be taught at callbacks.

For additional suggestions on having a successful audition, please review these audition tips.

Callbacks

Callbacks will be held on Saturday 28 April from 1 to 3 pm at the Draper Amphitheater (944 E Vestry Rd). There will be a simple dance routine to learn at callbacks. Bring character or other comfortable shoes to dance in and wear appropriate clothing. Callback list will be posted to the DAC website by 10:30 pm on Friday 27 April. Cast List will be posted by 10 pm on Monday 30 April.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals begin Monday 9 July at the Draper Amphitheater and will typically run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Evening tech rehearsals will start August 13. A general rehearsal calendar is already on the DAC website, details will be updated as rehearsals progress.

Scripts

Scripts will be distributed to those with speaking parts and to others on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on availability. A script deposit of $25 in the form of a check or cash is required to obtain a script.

Conflicts

When you enroll, you must fill out the conflict calendar in its entirety. Conflicts disclosed after auditions will be considered unexcused and may result in losing your part.
