Job Description
Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre is seeking a full time Education
Business Manager to work within our Education Department. The ideal
candidate is someone who is passionate about arts education, and eager to
engage collaboratively with students, teachers and arts mentors in our state.
The Education Business Manager is responsible for overseeing business
operations across programming, facilitating budgets, managing grant
applications/requests and assisting in the daily successes of our educational
programming.
Examples of Duties:
● Maintain a good working relationship with program directors,
stakeholders and teachers
● Design and implement procedures to improve efficiency
● Coordinates, designs, and implements financial/management systems
● Manage Budgets for OBC, UHSMTA, Conservatory and Festival
Academy
● Reconciles and reviews financial statements to ensure accuracy
● Manage grant requests within the POPS portal
● Assists staff in administering proposals to ensure compliance with
federal, state, and USBE policies/board rule
● Assist with planning and execution of the UHSMTA program and awards
show
● Oversee day to day fiscal management of OBC, UHSMTA,
Conservatory, and Academy
● Develops and maintains databases
● Manage program registrations and payments
Typical Qualifications
Ideal Candidate
● Proven leadership role in an arts/cultural capacity
● Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key
stakeholders
● Strong communication and team building skills
● Appreciation for the arts, specifically theatre, music and opera
● A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field of study
● Understanding of technical theatre
● Ability to manage and lead diverse external groups
● Facility with Microsoft office, Google’s G Suite and Zoom.
Supplemental Information
● Salary commensurate with experience.
● Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted,
heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips
and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
● Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work;
however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light
items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not
required to perform the work.
● Possess a valid driver's license.
