Emerging Leader Fellowship

In 2020, the Utah Division of Arts & Museums (UA&M) developed an Emerging Leadership Fellowship program to strengthen Utah’s cultural sector through increased involvement of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC), engaging young BIPOC leaders to gain professional experience within the cultural sector. Through generous funding from UA&M, the Salt Lake Arts Council is thrilled to open this Emerging Leader Fellowship to aspiring artists and/or arts administrators that identify as Black, Indigenous, or as a Person of Color to work with the state’s largest Local Arts Agency in the capital city of Salt Lake City. The programmatic goals include: connecting BIPOC leaders with an interest in developing a career in the cultural sector with mentors in the field , supporting professional development, and strengthening the cultural sector through increased engagement from emerging BIPOC leaders.
