Pioneer Theatre Company (PTC) seeks a highly-skilled, experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to plan, organize, direct, and control all aspects of marketing communications, branding, and public relations. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Artistic Director and senior leadership, the Director of Marketing and Communications will ensure that all advertising campaigns, external messaging, and collateral materials fully represent PTC’s brand and its mission, vision, and values. The Director of Marketing and Communications will focus on elevating the brand awareness of PTC locally and growing new audiences while retaining and deepening relationships with current patrons.

Responsibilities:
Develops season strategic plan with input from the Artistic Director and Managing Director.
Identifies and recommends appropriate sales channels, media mix, and new opportunities for the promotion of theatre.
Acts as a catalyst between departments and patrons to ensure continuity and quality of messaging.
Oversees public relations, including interviews and TV appearances, eliciting local coverage of theatre events, including special presentations.
Oversees an active and relevant social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).
Identifies and articulates marketing needs, sources providers, and manages outsourced contractors to assist in department goals, which typically include videography/photography, digital and mass media-buying, and graphics services
Provides some hands-on publishing/creative tasks when needed, e.g., creating digital and print ads and short video and audio editing.
Oversees company WordPress website, including contracting for periodic updates and maintenance.
Supports the artistic, patron services, and development staff in their patron and donor management, as needed.
Researches and supports the development of pricing policies.
Ensures patron satisfaction by gathering patron feedback, analyzing marketing and website metrics, and providing appropriate follow-through.
Manage marketing budget successfully, attending to University of Utah purchasing and documentation standards.
