Pioneer Theatre Company Upcoming Audition: Sweat


Pioneer Theatre Company is holding auditions for Sweat, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Lynn Nottage, and will run from March 29 – April 13, 2019.

Set in a small manufacturing town in Pennsylvania, Sweat follows the lives of nine people-friends, co-workers, mothers and sons, former spouses and lovers-that intersect as they try to hold onto, or reach for, the American Dream in the face of the increasingly precarious and divisive economic conditions in America at the dawn of the new millennium.

Written by Lynn Nottage, directed by Mary Robinson

Audition and Callback Dates:

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. is reserved for Actors Equity Association members ONLY. Callbacks will be held the same day, November 28, 2018, by invitation only.

Please be aware that PTC does not accept video or online submissions.

Rehearsal and Performance Dates:

Rehearsal dates for Sweat are March 4 – March 28, 2019; performance dates are March 29 – April 13, 2019.

Audition Information:

All auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. A headshot and resume are recommended.

Sides will be available starting November 19th. PTC is closed November 22nd and 23rd for Thanksgiving.

Sign Up:

Select roles are available. Auditioners must come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The sign-up sheet will be posted on Nov. 19, 2018.
