Participants will learn how to make a professional hand puppet, puppeteering techniques, how to build props and sets for puppet shows, and rehearse with the Puppets in the City Puppet Company.  Once participants are ready, they can perform with the company if they so choose. There is no fee to participants, and some pay is available depending on performances. No experience is necessary, and participation can be scheduled around work hours. Our audiences' ages range from pre-school to adult. We perform in our studio, schools, libraries and main stages.

Ages 8-108 may apply.

This is a fun opportunity to act and create in a safe environment. If you love theatre, but are shy about being onstage, then puppetry is for you! If you only wish to work behind the scenes on sets, costumes or props, that's great, too. If you are a librarian or teacher, learning puppetry can be a real asset in engaging children.
