Red Rocks Art Fest Plein Air Competition

This year we have three categories available for you to compete in:

Wet Media
Dry Media
Oil/Acrylic
Main Competition turn-in is at the MARC Thursday, October 10th from 5pm to 9pm at the MARC.

Main Competition awards and judges talk will take place Saturday, October 12th beginning at 10am at the MARC. Artists names and signatures are covered during judging.

Rules & Guidelines

Plein air painting is a painting completed in the field, on location and “in the moment.” Please note there is NO limit to the number of surfaces you can have stamped. One painting may be submitted for the Main Competition per category, and it must have been completed 90% on site and within 50 surrounding miles of Moab, during the festival. Paintings must be FRAMED and ready for hanging upon entry. The maximum size of any painting is 24″ X 24” (not including the frame and matte). It is suggested that you bring ALL the supplies and frames that you will need. We do have one art supply store in Moab, Imagination Station, however please be aware that their inventory is limited.
