We have been selected as a recipient of UDAF’s Utah Pollinator Habitat Program! We need a hand planting ~500 seedlings on the Swaner Preserve. These plants will provide crucial habitat and food for pollinators, including monarch butterflies.
Volunteers will need to climb over the Preserve fence to access the site, located near 224 in the northwestern corner of the Preserve’s wetlands. Then, will use shovels and trowels to plant seedlings that approximately 4″x4″ in size. Seedlings will be flagged to make ongoing maintenance like watering and hand weeding possible.
Project location is here: goo.gl/maps/YMCjK1YFxeMN3dj17. Parking is available within the Newpark/Redstone area. If possible, carpooling, bussing, or biking to the event is possible. If you would like to carpool from the EcoCenter before the event, reach out to Rhea to coordinate.
