2017 Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities

The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine will perform Sunday, May 21 at 8:00PM.

The Choir, back from their European Tour will present George Frideric Handel “Dixit Dominus, HWV 232″ regularly sung at Vespers and was probably composed under the patronage of Cardinal Carlo Colonna celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. also being presented: Peter Hallock, ” Phoenix” and Ralph Vaughan Williams “Serenade to Music.” This was composed in 1938 with a text from Shakespeare’s “Merchant of Venice” describing the glories of music.
