  1. Hello,
Why isn’t the parade held through the Gateway shopping mall anymore? It was such a nice spot. It had a wind break and it was so intimate in the narrow street. I would love to know why it isn’t there anymore.
    Thanks, Benny

  2. Probably because the Gateway mall was sold to Vestar equity management out of NYC where it’s no longer a locals kind of place. I remember the parade being on Rio Grande which was really nice in a walking street place looking something like St. Patricks day in Ireland and parts of Europe. We can give credit to the company that it’s been improving the area such as making the clock tower a video

    • Right Scotty – it was sold to that global establishment FROM ARIZONA (previous owners were from NYC) … horrors! And they only host things like yoga & beer, Rio Grande concert series, Italian, Brazilian and other celebrations, etc.,etc. so I’m not sure why the parade isn’t there, but it certainly isn’t because the the new Gateway aren’t trying to attract LOCAL participation!
