2021 Utah District, Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition

Please join us in person to witness Utah’s aspiring young opera singers when they audition for The Metropolitan Opera. The competition is designed to discover promising young opera singers and assist in the development of their careers. Some of today’s greatest singers got their start with the competition, including Renée Fleming, Stephanie Blythe, Eric Owens, Lawrence Brownlee, Lisette Oropesa, Jamie Barton, Michael Fabiano, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Ryan Speedo Green, and Nadine Sierra.

The Utah District round of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition is open to the public and free of admission charge. For the health and safety of the competing singers, we require that all audience members wear face coverings while in the building.
