A Christmas in July Festival : A Little Christmas Cheer Mid-Year

2pm Christmas Card Making Service Project
We’ll be making Christmas cards to distribute to seniors at care centers along the Wasatch front. Card stock and art supplies will be provided, but people are welcome to bring their own materials. We’ve found that seniors enjoy reading jokes in their cards, so we’ll be bringing some joke books for inspiration. Participants are welcome to make a card for a friend or family member as well!

3pm Dickens’ Christmas Carol Play Reading
Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has become one of the great holiday traditions and now you can be part of the drama in this short play adaption. Participants will draw character parts from a hat and read their parts out in the round! We’ve hosted play readings before, and it is always a good time. Not feeling dramatic? Yes, you can come and just listen too!

3:30pm-ish Carol Sing & Open Mic
During the play reading we’ll take a few pauses to sing well-known carols between scenes. After the reading the audience will join together in singing a few more carols and we’ll open the mic for anyone that would like to perform a family-friendly Christmas solo or group number (all acoustic / there is a piano available). This is festively low key! So, no stress, just fun, laugher, joy, and Christmas cheer.
4pm-ish Christmas Cookie Potluck
Bring your favorite Christmas cookie or bar to share at the Christmas Cookie Potluck after the play-reading and carol sing. If you’re feeling generous, print a few copies of the recipe to put by your plate of offerings. Mix, mingle and enjoy the glow of Christmas cheer mid-year! 🙂
