Guest Speaker: Vice Admiral (retired) RICHARD K. GALLAGHER
Last assignment: US Representative to the NATO Military Committee
Vice Admiral Richard K. Gallagher graduated from the US Navy Academy in 1976. and became a naval aviator in September 1977. He has served aboard the aircraft carriers USS Saratoga, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the USS John C. Stennis, which he commanded. He also commanded the US Navy Fighter Weapons School, TOPGUN, from September 1993 to December 1994. Promoted to Rear Admiral in 2001, he assumed command of Carrier Group 4 in 2003. He was assigned to European Command as Director, European Plans and Operations; then Deputy Commander; and finally, US Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee. Admiral Gallagher retired in September 2012 after a career of 36 years. During his service he logged over 4,000 flight hours and 800 carrier landings in F-4, F-14, F-16, and F/A-18 aircraft.
