Babcock Performing Readers Present "Life Begins on Opening Day" - CANCELED

Many of our greatest writers, poets and thinkers have turned to the game of baseball for inspiration.  From Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to Walt Whitman to Ernest Hemingway and Philip Roth, writers have used the game to express something fundamental about America and to examine what sports metaphors and images have to tell us about ourselves.

“Life Begins on Opening Day!” is an evening of baseball literature.  Nine readers will read 19 baseball-themed pieces, including classics like “Casey at the Bat” and “Who’s on First?” and BPR favorites “Baseball Explained,” “How to Spit,” “The Greatest,” and “Do You Think They’ll Let Me Play?”
