Basic Fruit Tree Care

Calling all apple, peach, pear, cherry and plum lovers! If you have them, we’ll teach you how to prune them!

This workshop is being taught by WCG’s longtime friend and avid supporter Dan Potts.  Dan is energetic, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable about fruit pruning, so his workshops are always a huge hit!

We will choose our location based on the number of sign-ups to make sure we all have plenty of room to observe and participate as space and tools allow.  We will discuss how to choose and care for your pruning tools (anvil vs. bypass pruners, loppers, etc.), and Dan will show us how to properly prune fruit trees to maximize their health and productivity.

Please dress for working in the garden, and bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and pruners if you have them.  This class will be held even in mildly unpleasant or chilly weather, but we will cancel via email the day before if it’s expected to be a total downpour or snow storm.  Let’s hope for beautiful weather!  Let’s get pruning!
