Block Printing on Clay Workshop

Printmakers and ceramic artists unite in this fun, dual practice workshop. Jocelyn will begin the class teaching the basics of block printing. Students will discuss their designs as a group to ensure they translate well to both paper and clay. Once their final design is ready, students will carve their design into linoleum blocks. Using speedball block printing inks and rice paper, students will create a small edition of prints. After the lunch break, Juanita will talk about how these block prints can be transferred into clay and create interesting images, textures, and patterns.
