Funk that captures that rocky mountain high through an elevated version of funk and jazz. Steeped in the funk royalty of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Parliament and Funkadelic. Cam Gallagher & The Tasty Soul pays tribute to the ones that came before and looks to add their own blend of jazz complexity, psychedelia, rock and soul. Making music to not only make you smile and dance but to move and groove your soul. Allowing for the “funkification” of your mind. Founder and Bandleader, Cam Gallagher is a University of Utah School of Music Alumni and a Downbeat award winning saxophonist. Cam has performed all around the world in prestigious music festivals such as the Telluride Jazz Festival, Croatian International Jazz Festival, Puerto Vallarta Jazz Festival, and Umbria Jazz Festival. Cam has shared the stage with a multitude of Grammy Nominated/Winning musicians like Kris Johnson, Randy Brecker, Victor Wooten, Jerry Cortez of Tower of Power, Jeff Coffin and Reshawn Ross of the Dave Matthews Band. The Creation of Cam Gallagher & The Tasty Soul was a response to the COVID-19 Epidemic. Cam’s vision is to create a band who brings a sense of liveliness, enthusiasm, zest, and passion in their musicality but to also make for a mesmerizing live show. Cam Gallagher & The Tasty Soul want to unite musicians and audiences once again through music. To help the people heal from the trials and tribulations of today’s world.
