Abbie Hagen is a Senior at Westminster College, pursuing an HBFA in Theatrical Design with a focus on costume design. Since starting at Westminster, Abbie has studied with four different cellists: Joyce Yang, Pegsoon Whang, Sarah Arnesen, and Dr. Lauren Posey. Abbie has performed in the Westminster Chamber Orchestra for the past four years, serving intermittently as principal cellist. She has been playing cello for twelve years, piano on-and-off for eight years, and singing for longer than she can remember. Following graduation, Abbie will be enrolling in Kent State University’s MFA program, pursuing a degree in Costume Design and Technology.
The music in this program is meant to serve as an encapsulation of Abbie’s musical studies while at Westminster, allowing her to showcase her different instrumental abilities. Bach’s Suite in G Major is an especially important example of this, as each movement was learned during a different semester of her education, with this concert being the first time she has performed the Suite in its totality.
