Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Exhibition
Please note, this event has expired.
The Day of the Dead (Spanish: El Dia de los Muertos) is a multi-day holiday celebrated to remember friends and family members who have died. This exhibition celebrates Day of the Dead through the colorful mythical art sculptures, Alebrijes.
Alebrijes first originated in Mexico with Pedro Linares, who in the 1930’s dreamt of strange animals while he was sick and bedridden. The animals in Linares’ dreams were hybrids such as a lion with the head of an eagle or a donkey with butterfly wings.View more
