Echoes of Old Gods: Music from the Fringes of Europe

Join Utopia Early Music for a concert of ancient music from the far-flung corners of Europe and beyond.

Utopia explores new musical territory with this concert of Medieval works from northern and eastern Europe. The program features chant from Ireland, Greece, and Armenia, ancient folk tunes from Bulgaria and Georgia, Czech dances, and songs from Norway and Denmark, including the first Scandinavian tune that was ever written down. Shulamit Kleinerman (vielle) and Therese Honey (Gothic harp) join a trio of voices to bring this hauntingly beautiful and rarely heard music to life.
