Daughters of Utah Pioneers Transcontinental Railroad Sesquicentennial Anniversary Lecture Series

The Daughters of Utah Pioneers is hosting a series of lectures for the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the historical driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Summit on May 10, 1869. Come join us for our Tuesday lecture series from 1:30-3 pm in the Lecture Hall of the Pioneer Memorial Museum, located across from the Utah State Capitol.

The guest speakers will be available for questions and answers following the lecture.  All are invited to tour the museum and visit the Special Collections Railroad Room donated by the Union Pacific.  The room includes many railroad artifacts, documents and pictures including an original cross section piece of rail from the Transcontinental Railroad and an impressive pedestal display of a Golden Spike replica.

UDAM Teaching Artist; Musician | Nino is a Northern Traditional Dancer, carrying on the Tradition of the warrior, wearing the eagle bustles of past days. Nino is also a cultural presenter, educating and entertaining audiences of all ages. Nino was one of five flute players selected to be part of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
