Collin Bradford / Temporary Configurations of Earth’s Matter

Bradford’s work explores the incompleteness of the various ways we can know and represent the land: first-person observation, photographs, surveying, walking, satellite imagery, 3D scans of the earth’s surface taken from space shuttles, etc. Having experimented with these different methods, Bradford is less concerned with images and the apparatuses that produce them. He addresses the land more directly, turning toward the dirt

Choreographer; Dancer; Musician; UDAM Teaching Artist | Katie regularly performs throughout Utah with her cuadro which includes: Jake Abbott (guitar and cante), Sandy Meek (guitar), and Julie Sheen (cajon and palmas). While growing up in Utah she studied jazz, ballet, tap and hip-hop. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for graduate school she fell in love with Flamenco after taking her first Sevillanas class. She studied with Solange Gomes for several years in Salt Lake City and most recently she lived in Sevilla, Spain where she studied with many flamenco maestros, including Luisa Palacio, Angel Atienza, Isabel Bayon and Javier Baron.
