Guided Snowshoe Walks

Cedar Breaks’ interpreters provide free guided snowshoe walks to the public on Saturdays in January and February. Plan to travel and snowshoe from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

After making reservations, visitors meet with a minimum number of two interpreters and carpool to the monument. Interpreters instruct visitors in snowshoe use and lead an interpretive walk from the junction of Highways 148 and 143 to the Winter Ranger Station (yurt). After enjoying hot cocoa, provided by the Winter Ranger Station Volunteers, interpreters lead visitors back to their vehicles or encourage visitors to return at their own pace.
