KZMU Moab Community Radio Presents: "Uranium The Musical!"

Based on historical accounts of Moab in the 1950s, “Uranium the Musical” features fictional as well as actual characters, including writer Edward Abbey and “Uranium King” Charlie Steen.

This radio play is set in the Moab of the 1950s, when the uranium boom was still in full sway, a period that still influences the town’s environment and its evolution as a tourist mecca. Historical characters include geologist and millionaire Charlie Steen and his wife ML, writer Edward Abbey (then a ranger at Arches) and “The Goatman,” a world traveler who settled near the Colorado River bridge with his goats and dogs. “Uranium the Musical” will inform as well as entertain as we

Tickets are $15 and will be on sale at Back of Beyond Books, KZMU, Canyonlands Copy Center, WabiSabi one month before the event. They will also be available at the door, while they last. All proceeds benefit KZMU Moab Community Radio.
