Listening Workshop: Nordic Folk Music

Thursday: Why don’t my ears talk to my feet? Friday: Polskor, Polskor, and more Polskor

This workshop is designed to give dancers and beginning listeners, including non-dancers and non-musicians, the tools and strategies to better appreciate Nordic music. This participatory workshop introduces vocabulary and the basic structure of music, and how it can be divided into measures, phrases and parts of a given tune. From there, participants practice various clapping, counting and movement exercises.
