A 6 week self-management program for people 60+ with diabetes.
Participants 60+, will learn to manage living with Type 2 Diabetes.
Topics covered include:
1. Techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/Hypoglycemia, stress and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear and frustration.
2. Appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength and endurance
3. Healthy Eating
4. Appropriate use of medication
5. Working more effectively with health care providers
Classes meet 1x a week for 6 weeks for 2.5 hours.
