The Philippine Islands are home to some of the world’s most extreme mammals: a giant bat with a 5-foot wingspan, a rat the size of a cat, and a tiny nocturnal primate only 4-5 inches long. Of the 206 known native mammals, 57% are found only in the Philippines.
