Opening Reception: Gary Jacobson and Justin Chouinard

Join UMOCA on March 24 from 6-9 p.m. for the opening of our two new exhibitions, Justin Chouinard’s “These Ribbons Are Substratum” and Gary Jacobson’s “Some Thoughts.”

Following the artists’ talks, the Waterford School invites you to enjoy “At the Heart of Who We Are,” a conversation with photographer Burk Uzzle. After his discussion, filmmakers David Raymond and Jethro Waters will present their trailer for f/11 and be there, a feature length documentary about Burk.

Justin Chouinard introduces the ghosts of experience past in his exhibition, These Ribbons Are Substratum. Manipulating film slides and loops by hand, Chouinard exposes the skin of the image
