Orem Arts Council Presents: Mad Rush by Lisa Moore

The New York-based Australian ‘avant-garde visionary pianist’ (New Yorker) Lisa Moore will perform an illuminating and virtuosic sixty-minute recital featuring works from her recent albums – composed by three of America’s leading composers. The concert opens with sonorous and mesmerizing works by Oscar-nominated Philip Glass – before moving to the sublime and lyrical lilt of Martin Bresnick’s Ishi’s Song – and concluding with the bullet-pulsing pyrotechnics of music by maverick composer-pianist Frederic Rzewski. Don’t miss Lisa Moore’s concert – she’s the pianist Pitchfork magazine calls “the best kind of contemporary classical musician, one so fearsomely game that she inspires composers to offer her their most wildly unplayable ideas”.
