Piano Monster Concert

Pianists of all ages and levels are welcome to participate. We will have multiple Steinway and Boston grand pianos on the stage. Two or three pianists at each piano will be performing piano ensemble music in groups that are divided according to their age and ability. Teachers are welcome to participate in any group!

Pianists of ALL levels and ages are invited to participate (including adults/teachers).
There will be one dress rehearsal on Monday, December 2, 2019.

ADMISSION INFO

There is a registration fee of $5.00 per participant. Participants should also plan on spending between $5.00 and $15.00 to purchase music (available through Cedar City Music and The Music Store in St. George or online).

Tickets for the concert will be on sale at the door. Each participant will receive two complimentary tickets. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Admission is free for SUU Faculty/Staff and students with a current ID. Anyone participating in the final concert is not required to purchase a ticket.

KATIE SHEEN ABBOTT

Choreographer; Dancer; Musician; UDAM Teaching Artist | Katie regularly performs throughout Utah with her cuadro which includes: Jake Abbott (guitar and cante), Sandy Meek (guitar), and Julie Sheen (cajon and palmas). While growing up in Utah she studied jazz, ballet, tap and hip-hop. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for graduate school she fell in love with Flamenco after taking her first Sevillanas class. She studied with Solange Gomes for several years in Salt Lake City and most recently she lived in Sevilla, Spain where she studied with many flamenco maestros, including Luisa Palacio, Angel Atienza, Isabel Bayon and Javier Baron.
