Play: New Work By Heather Blanton

Join us on Friday, July 30th for the opening of Play, an exhibition featuring artwork by new J GO Gallery artist Heather Blanton.

Blanton isn’t your typical sports artist.  Her fun, orderly compositions give her work an arresting quality. Unrealistic spacial relationships between the figures is a notable and distinctive element of her paintings that adds importance to each character, and makes the negative space an important part of each piece.   She often paints the shadows cast by the figures as well, which makes the players seem to pop off the canvas and urges viewers take a second look to see if they are actually three dimensional.
