Poetic Abstraction

Abstract painter, Andrew Marvick and poet, Nathaniel Taggart collaborate to bring paint to poetry and poetry to paint.

Utah artist, Andrew Marvick and poet, Nathaniel Taggart will collaborate through the summer and to create a body of visual art and written verse, inspired by the creative musings of each. This will be Marvick’s second solo show at Art Works Gallery, and the realization of a partnering for Taggart that had its genesis several years ago when he was inspired to write poetry in response to Marvick’s paintings. A chapbook featuring Marvick’s paintings and Taggart’s poetry will be published and

DAVID HABBEN

Graphic Designer; UDAM Teaching Artist | David received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2006. In 2008, he became one of the first illustrators to become a Children’s Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. For the next eight years, David continued to work as an illustrator and designer, both in-house and freelance. Then, In 2017, he earned his MFA in Studio Art, with a Graphic Design emphasis, from The University of Utah.
