On April 21, Union Station welcomes poets Kara van de Graaf and Brock Jones to help us celebrate National Poetry Month. This reading is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase following the reading. The reading will take place upstairs in our Wattis Dumke room.

KARA VAN DE GRAAF‘s first book of poems, Spitting Image, won the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry First Book Award and is forthcoming from SIU Press. Her poems have appeared in The Southern Review, AGNI, New England Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Crazyhorse, Best New Poets, and elsewhere. She is the co-founder and editor of Lightbox Poetry, an online educational resource for poetry in the classroom. Currently, she serves as Assistant Professor of English at Utah Valley University.
BROCK JONES‘ first poetry collection, Cenotaph, was a finalist in the 2016 Miller Williams Poetry Prize and was published by the University of Arkansas Press. His writing has appeared in The Iowa Review, Poetry Daily, Lunch Ticket, Ninth Letter online, Sugar House Review, and other journals. He will complete a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Utah later this year. He recently accepted a position as an assistant professor of English at Utah Valley University and will begin teaching there this fall.
