Drummer Jay Lawrence leads a team of Utah’s top jazz musicians through a program of the classic Bossa Nova songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Sergio Mendez and others, This is the classic sound that introduced the world to the music and dance tunes of Brazil. Bossa Nova introduced a subtle yet accessible approach to sophisticated dance rhythms that expanded the boundaries of jazz.
