Scandinavian Folk Dance: Basics for Beginners

A series of classes for beginners. Each four-part class will cover steps and techniques of a basic ballroom-type dance, such as the polka or waltz (but with their special Scandinavian folk character), along with several related line- or circle-type group dances. Over the course of several months we will cover the most popular folk dances of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland that we regularly enjoy at our twice-monthly recreational dances. Each month’s class will be taught at a fun, approachable beginner level. We encourage you to take as many classes as possible.
