Shifting Styles: Cezanne to Dali - Painting for Teens focusing on Cubism, Impressionism and Surrealism

Join Ty Cummings for a contemporary look at three exciting and influential movements in painting: Cubism and its interest in time, bold color, shapes, and perspectives; Impressionism and its interest in light, bright colors, and perception, and finally Surrealism and its symbolism, dream-analysis, use of realism to enhance dream-like scenes. Students will create self-portraits, landscapes, dreamscapes, and still-life paintings utilizing different styles and approaches, all the while examining the work of Modern Masters. Painting, drawing, and collage will be utilized.
