Singing in the Rain, Jr.

Center Stage Youth Performers is proud to present their upcoming production of Singing in the Rain Jr., which will run from April 25-29 at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo. This rendition of the classic film features 86 actors (ages 8-18) from all over Utah County. The Center Stage acting troupe, centered in Pleasant Grove, is in its 15^th year and is continuing its tradition of creating a wonderful show for audiences while giving its young performers the chance to participate in a high-level production staged in a beautiful theater.

Lori Sanders is the director of this production, working with Kristen Bradley as choreographer and Andrew Walsh as music director. Anyone familiar with Singing in the Rain knows it is full of special challenges—stylized character voices on the vocal side, and as far as dance—it’s tap, tap, tap! Center Stage began offering tap classes almost 3 years ago in order to give students the opportunity to master this complicated dance style for Singing in the Rain. Sanders believes that the audience will come away thoroughly entertained, having forgotten they just witnessed a “youth production.”
