FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

UKULELE KEYNOTE: The Mountain Blues Brothers are a successful ukulele duo who perform regularly along the Wasatch Front. They will play songs from their new CD, talk about the recording process, what brought them together and some of the opportunities out there to give ukulele service in the community.
NEW TO THE UKE?: Beginner’s Rejoice! Ukulele Circuit Training will get you up and running with our dedicated volunteer trainers and stations. Get to know your ukulele, how to make your first chords, how to read chord diagrams, first strums and more. A fun and social introduction to the basics.
UKULELE SPEED DATING: Players with some experience will enjoy getting to know other strummers in a game of musical chairs unlike any you’ve played before. Laughter and learning are sure to ensue, so prepare to have some fun and makes some friends!
THE UKULELE PICNIC : Picnic, Ukulele Jam, Open Mic, and Ukulele Community Spotlights. Bring your blankets, chairs, ukes and a picnic! Enjoy jamming with everyone and watching or performing during the open mic performances. We’ll also feature some spotlights on community ukulele groups from around Utah. Sign up for the open mic at the festival info table in the Community Center.

UKULELE OLYMPICS: An ukulele competition like none you have witnessed before. Watch contestants compete in the CHORD SPELLING BEE, SPEED STRUMMING TRIALS, PROGRESSION OBSTACLE COURSE, FINGERSTYLE FACEOFF, CHORUS CLASH. Descriptions, rules and materials will be available on UtahUkeFest.org prior to the competition. Sign up at the festival info booth in the main hall. First come, first served. Prizes will include an ukulele, straps, books, bragging rights and more.
